Engineering Manager

We are looking for someone with strong mechanical and technical aptitude who will take our products to the next level.

WHAT WE WILL ASK YOU TO DO:

• Guide and manage the product design cycle for new or improved products of BinMaster.
  • Researching available technologies
  • Selecting technologies to implement and deploy.
  • Designing products to maximize production efficiency while still meeting product specifications.
• Bring expert-level knowledge of technology and processes in the industrial sensor market.
• Work on multiple projects at various stages of the product design cycle.
• Use the latest software to plan, document, and deliver product development schedule.
• Coordinate with sales and marketing to incorporate market needs into new product development.
• Collaborate with our software development team to ensure product/ software compatibility.
• Ensure that all products meet or exceed industry and quality management system standards.
• Work with certification agencies (CSA/UL/ATEX/ICEx) to ensure products meet and/or maintain appropriate certification status.
• Create and/or maintain manuals and documentation on all product specifications.
• Coordinate with technical services team on problems in the field.
• Work with management team to plan company priorities, especially regarding product development.
• Provide guidance with respect to engineering team capabilities and areas where additional resources may be needed.
• Manage and prioritize efforts of engineering team to deliver product development.
• Supervise all product development staff in performance of duties and personal development.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE:

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• 4-5 years relevant work experience
• 1-2 years departmental management experience
• Master’s degree in engineering or MBA a plus

DEMANDS OF THIS POSITION:

• Must be comfortable in industrial settings, diverse climates, including heights in and around large vessels and silos.
• Must be willing and able to travel (including overnight stays) for consecutive days. Travel is estimated at 5-10%.
• Valid passport or the ability to obtain a passport.
